We continue to bring you fabulous classes that you can do from the safety of your home through December through our online partner Workoutangel. We want to ensure you are able to enjoy your family time and our priority is to keep you (and us) safe so that we can all do so.
If you’re not a member take the opportunity to join us now and stay fit & healthy in the lead up to Christmas. There are classes short & longer to fit in with your lifestyle, making it easier to slip in a workout, Pilates or stretch session in your lunch hour or when you have time you can join us Live for our Facebook classes.
The studio will sleep during December (apart from one to one sessions) but will be ready to be woken up for January.

Busy start to the week on Workoutangel!
Facebook Live classes have been so well attended and continue to be so...with great feedback which is very heart warming. 💕
It is such a joy to know you are all keeping up your exercise, whether you use the website library or do the lives (or both), some of you really making the most of the extra classes you have access to on Facebook and feeling fab by the sounds of it! 😁
This year may have been a challenge but the feel good factor of keeping moving has certainly proved itself! 😉

Well it’s Friday! How did that happen? Ceri has moved her Thursday morning Pilates class to this morning - so at 9.30 you can join Ceri if you are a member.
Next week we will be a week closer to coming out of Lockdown (even though it seems to be less of a lockdown than before!) and, hopefully, we will be back in the studio soon - we’ll let you know as soon as we find out whether and when we’re able to.
Meanwhile we continue to offer you “Live” online classes, some free Facebook classes and online Personal Training sessions. We now have over 200 classes for our WorkoutAngel members which you can access as a Silver, Platinum or Gold member.

WHO WANTS TO LEARN TO TAP DANCE?
On Saturday I presented an event on the Cerisport Facebook page ...’Happy Saturday’ was all about dance influenced fitness classes...(still on the page if you want to give them a go!😉) and I had over 120 people join me to have fun.
One was tap dance influenced and it definitely sparked some interest! So much so, I am planning to do some filming for Workoutangel to teach some basic tap dancing and make you feel like a Tap dancer! No tap shoes required...

CALLING ALL MUMS TO BE AND NEW MUMS!POSTNATAL SELF CARE.....ARE YOU LOOKING AFTER YOU?
We spend hours caring for our new baby and giving them love and attention, quite rightly of course! But are you looking after you too?
Our bodies have been through a lot and take a long while to recover. That’s where I come in! Read on if you want to ensure you have a safe effective journey back to exercise!
🌼 FIRST STOP.....what are your abdominal muscles and pelvic floor up to? It’s vital that you understand how your muscles have recovered so far before beginning an exercise program so that you don’t exacerbate any issues you may have (and possibly don’t realise!)
Putting pressure on these muscles through practicing the wrong types of exercise could land you in trouble.
🌸 I WANT TO GET BACK IN SHAPE! .....Whilst your may be desperate to ‘get back into shape’ it must be done the right way! You can’t just start lifting weights and leaping about straight away! Starting with the inside and working outwards is my advice. Always find a specialist postnatal teacher who has experience of working with Postnatal Mums and fully understands core and pelvic floor recovery.
🌼 LIFT BABY & EQUIPMENT SAFELY....learning to engage the right muscles and using the correct breathing techniques is something that will help protect your back, abdominals and pelvic floor. Our bodies are much more vulnerable post pregnancy and the last thing you want to do is hurt your back!
🌸 SO WHAT SHOULD YOU AVOID? ....Anything that puts strain on your pelvic floor and abdominals such as lifting weights, high impact activities, exercising holding weight when your body is only just starting back are all a NO NO!
Obviously you have to carry your baby around but how you do this should be thought through also....one side hip holding can create problems so try to avoid that. Sling carrying needs consideration....whilst pregnant the weight of baby in front of you puts a lot of strain on your back, abdominals and pelvic floor and alters your posture. Many women suffer with pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy which may just be improving and you want to keep it that way! Carrying an increasingly heavy baby in a sling puts even more stress on a body that hasn’t fully recovered from pregnancy yet so it’s important be aware of this. I’m not saying don’t sling carry, just to be aware it may not be a great option for you.
🌼 HOW CAN I HELP? My online Postnatal program on Workoutangel.co.uk helps you recover safely, to start at the beginning, assess your body and begin exercising completely safely! After your six week check up when you have established where you are in your recovery it is safe to begin, unless advised otherwise. If it is possible I always recommend my new Mums to have a Mummy MOT and I can highly recommend a local ( Bedfordshire) women’s pelvic health specialist I work closely with if you would like to contact me. If you live elsewhere I can help you locate a specialist.
🌸 WHAT IS IN THE PROGRAM? I promise you a safe start back to exercise, guidance on nutrition and pelvic floor health, relaxation, release work and stretching for those tight muscles we so often develop doing Mum jobs and my virtual support.
